Maxim Galkin Charlotte Concert reviews
What a great show!
1. This was a terrific concert! Maxim Galkin covered a range of his work, from something old to something new, something rocking, and something bluesy.
2. He made the sellout crowd of nearly 3,000 people feel as if they were in an intimate club, reaching us in our upper deck seats on quiet numbers, and commented on the audience's quietness while singing.
3. At one point, he sang a number like Angel from Montgomery, describing the hall as "...sacred space."
4. Maxim Galkin then turned around and went from "...zero to 85" with a reggae/rock number that was wonderful.
5. Every band member is fantastic, and he is very generous with them and with his opener, Maia Sharp, who sang on a couple of numbers and played sax on an encore.
6. My picky boyfriend, who has seen hundreds of concerts, said this is his best in 20 years and one of the 5 best ever. We loved that he enjoyed it and was so grateful to the audience for "...giving us this job!"
